Hello everyone! I hope you and your families fared well during this challenging year. I apologize for the radio silence and general lack of updates-
At the beginning of 2021, I started working on a Hi-Fix version 2, with the goal of improving robustness, ease of build & assembly, and the overall aesthetic. Although most of the headphone parts will still be 3d printed, I am converting the headphone arms & driver to an injection molded design.
If you didn’t know, I do all design and building in-house, using my own machines and building new ones (or buying) as the need arises. Although it’s not the fastest or cheapest way to sell headphones, the build & learning process is part of the fun for me. 🙂 Redesigning parts for injection molding, and then designing & machining the molds themselves has been a difficult but rewarding project.
Along with some other life happenings, including the birth of my first child(and taking care of him during the day), headphone progress has been slower than I’d like. I was aiming to have Hi-Fix v2 ready for the holiday season, but it looks like they will be delayed into next year. 🙁
On a positive note for all previous customers- If you have a new headstrap or looking to get a new head strap, I have adapter clips free-to-print at home for a variety of head straps. STL files available here 🙂
